How to use it in Microsoft Word

    Download and open it

    Open the .docx in Word and click Enable Editing if it opens in Protected View.

    Add your business and the job

    Fill in your details, the customer, the job address, an estimate number and the valid-until date.

  3. 3

    Describe the work

    List each line with its type, quantity, unit and rate, and work out each amount.

  4. 4

    Add the totals and terms

    Fill in labor, materials, tax and the total, then your terms (for example 50% deposit to schedule). Word doesn't calculate, so double-check the sums.

    Save as PDF and send

    Choose File > Save As > PDF and email it to the customer.

Can I turn the estimate into an invoice later?
