Questions about the Word credit note template
Is it really free?
Yes. The download is free, with no sign-up, no email and no watermark. The online builder is free too.
What's the difference between a credit note and an invoice?
An invoice asks the customer to pay. A credit note reduces or cancels what they owe on an invoice you already sent, for returns, overcharges or cancelled work. It quotes the original invoice number.
Does Word add up the totals?
No, a Word table doesn't calculate by itself. Use the Excel template if you want formulas, or the online maker, which works out every total and still downloads as Word.
Can I call it a credit memo?
Yes. Change the title to Credit memo in Word. Both names mean the same document.
